Today’s dog walk was a little longer than usual, we stretched our legs a bit by going around Boucle No 9. It was a grand day for it, with sun shining in clear blue sky – just the migrating geese overhead. It has been looking a lot like Autumn for many weeks now, though the shedding of brown leaves was entirely due to the long, hot and dry summer. Now we have the real thing
This blog has now been moved to a new server. We should be up and posting again very soon now. For a few days things may look a little odd, perform strangely or generally not work very well. Please bear with me whilst I set things up. The main news of today is that we are seeking a new and better home for Chloé. Perhaps I should say a more Chloé-appropriate home. Chloé is the
Things have been awkward on the blogging front. We were hacked and that took some sorting out and kind of took the heart out of it somehow. Then we went away for some weeks and whilst we were away the server picked up a nasty malware infection that took many hours of work and remains in an unwholesome state. At many points we were on the verge of taking down the server completely and so
Thursday has not gone to plan and we did not go to Poitiers. For some little while now, Mr L has been fuming at the car which was frequently telling us that a tyre needs air. This morning he found out why, there was a screw embedded in it. Unfortunately our car does not come with a spare tyre, so he had to take it into Norauto in Montmorillon. Norauto were ace and fixed it
Cat is not Fifi. We both looked at her and agreed that she is no Fifi. Her name on her passport will be Chloé. She does look like a Chloé, we think. We have promised Chloé that we will not change her name/our minds again.
As Cat was in the house when Mr L returned from walking the dog, he boxed her up and headed off to the vet to make an appointment but in the hope that they might just fit her in. They couldn’t, so he was soon home again and she is due for her rendezvous on Monday morning. Cat will be needing a name for her passport. We have decided on Fifi as Mr L will
Dusty was very much off it last night. Not himself at all. This morning however he is full of spark again. Turns out that he is as much of a dairy fiend as his predecessor Treacle was. I had much difficulty in eating my yogurt unaided this morning. Having decided last night that Cat would be needing a passport if she can be persuaded to travel with us, we were up and at ’em early
We have been having a rare day today, cool, cloudy and just a little damp. I have been taking advantage of increased energy levels to rearrange the mess in the house and to clear up some kitchen leftovers. The Crooked Man and the Not-so-crooked-cat have been out to visit the vet. The vet agrees with us that Dusty is probably around 3 months old, perhaps a little less. Old enough anyway to have his injections
Today is the day that Dusty stopped being Cute and became Trouble. Today was the day when Dusty learned that thing about leaping up onto the bed, tearing across the pillows above our heads, jumping off, running round and doing it again… Today was the day when Dusty found his way up onto the bathroom worktop and thoroughly tested Gravity was in place today. Today was the day when Dusty discovered the bathroom hand basin.
