Really wanting to get this diary thing going but another day passed with nothing written. Not much happening. I washed towels and got them out on the line. They didn’t dry well due to a drop in air temperature. We lit the fire. I cooked. Trying hard to return to low carb eating, so we had a healthy but tasty meal. I roasted cod wrapped in prosciutto, served on a tomato and pepper sauce and

Keeping Busy
Almost fell at the first hurdle today. It has been a very busy one, leaving little time to visit the blog. The day has been spent between laundry and kitchen. It was too good a day not to catch up on the post-trip washing, so I tackled that in between the necessary task of checking food stores and meal planning. We shopped on Thursday, on our way home from our final stop at Capdenac. I
Déja Vu
Here we are: Lockdown v2.0 began at midnight last night. We arrived home from a month-long trip just after lunchtime yesterday, squeaking in under the wire rather better than we did in March, when we were an hour or two late and had to come home, attestation in hand. Lockdown v1 did not gain as much of my attention here as it should have done. It has been pointed out to me how important it
Stuff that kept us busy for a while
There were other constructions but they don’t appear to have made it onto my camera card so are not currently available f or inclusion. Together with the daily dog walk (health permitting) and a deal of sun bathing, it all helped to pass the time and our 8 weeks were up almost before they seemed to have started. Where was I?
Now, where was I? I was saying (a long time ago) that I couldn’t get automatic posting from Instagram to work. I notice that in my absence the applet suddenly began to play nicely (1, 2, 3)! It needs some fine tuning I think. And wherever have I been and where are my Lockdown updates? It went roughly like this: After six weeks of Lockdown, on the 27th of April, I was suddenly catapulted into
Another Day, Another Week, Another Month
It was not unexpected last evening, when M. Macron announced an extension to the lockdown until May 11th. That is another four weeks. There is no hint yet as to whether it is expected to extend beyond that period or if instead we shall be seeing a relaxation of our restrictions. I am not very good with figures and especially not so with graphs but it looks to me as though France may not have
One Month Later…
It is difficult to believe that tomorrow we enter our fifth week of physical distancing (aka Lockdown). The time is passing so quickly and evidence of this would seem to be the fact that I never found the time to sit down during this past week to write the words “we are in our fourth week“. M. Macron speaks to the nation this evening and it is widely expected that he will be increasing our
One, two, three…
We are now well into our third week of confinement. Things appear to be going well for us and the time is passing very quickly, It should get even better now that the weather is set to pick up again. We are now fully confident that we have not brought any nasty bugs home with us from Provence and so I am no longer trying to completely avoid everybody by walking Nell at a time
