Crooked House

A country life in France

Where was I?

Now, where was I? I was saying (a long time ago) that I couldn’t get automatic posting from Instagram to work. I notice that in my absence the applet suddenly began to play nicely (1, 2, 3)! It needs some fine tuning I think.

And wherever have I been and where are my Lockdown updates?

It went roughly like this: After six weeks of Lockdown, on the 27th of April, I was suddenly catapulted into the outside world, with a hasty visit to the doctor in Adriers. It felt very strange to be out in the car and among people. The visit to the surgery itself was quite surreal – between Covid-19 procedures and the fact that I was completely out of it, suffering as I was with intense pain.

It took two weeks to get over my little incident; a period during which I did not leave the house to go for a walk and also felt too tired and lacking in energy to sit down at the computer.

Lockdown restrictions were lifted somewhat after 8 weeks of staying close to home. We can now travel within a radius of 100 Km (more, if staying within our home Department) and no longer have to fill out a form with a reason for movement. It feels very liberating. I would have said so… but we lost our Wi-Fi connection and have been mostly without a usable connection for ages.

One thing that has been badly affected is my supposed weekly image f the greening of the countryside. Whilst I have been MIA things have moved on apace and we are really looking at an early summer landscape now. I took this one a couple of days ago. growth has been so impressive that I struggled to find the tree stump that has been my marker for taking these shots.

17th April: Nature has gone rampant

The local relay now seems to be fixed. I hardly dare rely on it as we have had several false impressions of that nature… However, it seems time now to do some catching up. A small flurry of posts should follow this one.

Got something to say?
